The Conservatorio di Musica “Luca Marenzio” di Brescia promotes, within the Spazio Marenzio 2025/2026 programme, the masterclass Introduction to the Cataloguing of Printed Music Resources in SBN, held at the Fondo Prezioso of the Conservatory’s Library.
The masterclass provides an introduction to the cataloguing of printed music within the Italian National Library Service (SBN), with further insights into music bibliographic research tools and the music collections of the Conservatory Library and the Brescia area. It presents an analysis of the SBN OPAC and its structure; starting from examples of printed musical sources preserved in the Library, participants are guided in the reading and creation of bibliographic records in SBN.
The course is taught by Nadia Masini, coordinator of the initiative, together with Laura Rinnovati, Mariella Sala, and Sara Taglietti, professionals with recognized expertise in music librarianship and the cataloguing of musical resources. The masterclass is aimed at librarians, archivists, students, and professionals interested in the management and enhancement of musical heritage, confirming the commitment of the Conservatorio “Luca Marenzio” to specialized training and the promotion of its historical collections.
