About The Work
The image documents a selection of projects presented at the end-of-year academic exhibition of the Evening School. A label affixed to one of the display panels translates as: ‘CRAFTS SECTION – MEN'S DEPARTMENT – EVENING COURSES – PREPARATORY B’. The setting in which the students’ work is exhibited can be identified through the architectural features of the first-floor loggia. At the time the photograph was taken, the space had not yet undergone restoration, and its characteristic fifteenth-century frescoes were not visible. These frescoes were subsequently uncovered and restored during conservation work directed by Adolfo Angeli between 1924 and 1934.
