About The Work
The photographic prints document the end-of-year design exercises produced by students of the School of Architecture. These works are displayed on a variety of supports arranged throughout the center and along the walls of the room. The architectural configuration of the classroom, the natural light entering from the left-side windows, and the marble steps located in the rear right-hand corner collectively identify the space as the current painting classroom on the upper floor of the building. Following the restoration undertaken between 1924 and 1934 under the direction of Adolfo Angeli, the rooms on the upper floor corresponding to the Prince’s Palace were allocated entirely to the School of Architecture. Meanwhile, the rooms above the fortress were designated for the art history classroom, the figure drawing classroom, and the sculpture studios.
