About The Work
The photograph provides a view of the entrance hall, specifically the location of the Academic Notice Board, positioned just below the staircase. Three posters affixed to the board are visible and largely legible. The first advertises the Concorso Clementino, a competition established by Pope Albani in 1702, which played a significant role in the activities of the Accademia di San Luca and, more broadly, in the artistic milieu of eighteenth-century Rome. The second poster pertains to the Concorso Pellegrini, a painting competition instituted by the Accademia di San Luca through the bequest of the painter Domenico Pellegrini (1759–1840). The third poster references the Comune di Cesena; however, its content is illegible, rendering reconstruction of its context impossible.
