The Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera promotes an intensive training workshop dedicated to the cataloguing of photography, with the aim of exploring methods, descriptive standards, and research perspectives related to the management and enhancement of photographic archives.
Structured over several days, the program is intended for students interested in acquiring specialized skills in the conservation and promotion of photographic heritage. Under the guidance of Maria Francesca Bonetti, representative of the Società Italiana per lo Studio della Fotografia (SISF), the workshop provides a theoretical framework on the main national and international cataloguing standards, combined with practical exercises designed to develop skills in critical analysis of photographic images, preparation of descriptive records, and presentation of archival fonds and collections.
Particular attention is devoted to the evolution of methodologies in photographic studies, issues related to the management of photographic assets, and new research perspectives offered by technologies applied to historical and artistic heritage.
This initiative is part of the educational activities of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera and aims to strengthen the dialogue between academic training and professional practice, providing concrete tools for working in the field of cataloguing and enhancing historical and contemporary photography.
